WHAT WE’RE COOKING FOR YOU THIS WEEK

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 24 — Never mind the weather, soup’s on for you!

Shredded pork enchiladas, Spanish rice with black beans, and cole slaw with lime & cilantro dressing. Shredded pork loin with a house made enchilada sauce lovingly wrapped in thick corn tortillas help rethink “pigs in a blanket.” Spanish rice cooked with tomatoes, green chilis, and black beans come complemented by a surprisingly delicious slaw with fresh Mexican flavors.

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 25

Lasagna, house salad, & garlic bread. SHE lasagna comes with house made noodles and ricotta cheese swimming in a delicious traditional sauce full of meat all wound together with lots of mozzarella cheese. You won’t need anything else, but the garlic bread sure will help sopping the sauce and cheese.

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 26

Fried chicken tenders, signature potatoes, green beans, & buttermilk biscuits. Chicken tenders bedded overnight in buttermilk and hot sauce come fried in a special flour recipe and served with the old southern standbys of potatoes, green beans, and flaky buttermilk biscuits.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 27

Salmon croquettes, mixed roasted root vegetables, and a house salad. We caught some more salmon in Bayou Lafourche (they somehow got lost on their annual spawning run), formed them into patties with bread crumbs and seasonings, and pan fried them to perfection — they come served with a light, lemony butter sauce. A wonderful collection of roasted root veggies, including parsnips, carrots, and beets with just a touch of chives, turn this into a great meal for a Lenten Friday.

Dessert Offerings This Week: Chocolate scones with a luscious chocolate sauce and lavender scones with lemon curd.
