WHAT WE’RE COOKING FOR YOU THIS WEEK

TUESDAY, March 3 — We’ve Been Open One Month!

Chicken carbonara, house salad, and house bread. Well, it’s bow tie pasta swimming in a creamy white sauce with lots of good friends — oven-roasted chicken breast, mushrooms, fresh tomatoes, green onions. A house salad and SHE bread rounds the offering nicely.

WEDNESDAY, March 4

Lasagna, house salad, & garlic bread. SHE lasagna comes with house made noodles and house made ricotta cheese surrounded by a delicious traditional tomato sauce full of lean ground beef and seasoned sausage — all bound together with lots of mozzarella cheese. You won’t really need anything else, but the garlic bread sure will help sopping the sauce and cheese.

THURSDAY, March 5

Fried pork chops, mama’s rice, green peas with pearl onions, & buttermilk honey biscuits. These pork chops will rest overnight in buttermilk and seasonings before being ceremoniously fried in a special flour recipe and served with the old southern standbys of green peas and flaky buttermilk honey biscuits. Mama’s rice, full of rich beef broth and mushrooms, is its own food group. Yep.

FRIDAY, March 6

Salmon croquettes, mixed roasted root vegetables, and a house salad. Well, we overfished the lost salmon in Bayou Lafourche, so we had to try our nets in the Boeuf River.  What we caught, we formed into patties with bread crumbs and seasonings, and pan fried to perfection — they come served with a light, lemony butter sauce. Add some roasted broccoli and cauliflower, and you’ve got a great meal for a Lenten Friday.

Dessert Offerings This Week

Chocolate scones with a luscious chocolate sauce, lavender scones with lemon curd, butter pecan pound cake, and an apple pie.
