Sting sang about it: “Giant steps are what you take, walking on the moon. I hope my legs don’t break walking on the moon…some may say, I wishing my days away….” Yep. Forty-seven years ago this week, astronauts walked on the moon. Here’s what we’ve got cooking for you at week’s end, and we hope it sends you over the moon: Pulled pork po-boys with apple slaw and barbecued shrimp tacos with Spanish rice, charro black beans, and fresh salsas.
What We’re Cooking for You at Week’s End
Thursday, July 21
Pulled pork sandwiches with apple slaw on Gambino’s po-boy bread. Slow cooked pork, pulled to tender pieces, house made barbecue sauce, and jalapeño mayonnaise topped with our tart apple slaw on Gambino’s po-boy bread form a porkalicious sandwich that simply makes your week better by helping you slide faster into the weekend. Forty-seven years ago, Neil Armstrong became the first man to walk on the moon, and he uttered these famous words, “That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.” He’d been practicing for days in the lunar module, hoping to get the words just right. But, every once in a while, he’d substitute his favorite meat in the wording just to keep things, well, light: “That’s one small step for bacon, one giant leap for pigkind.” Few know that the crew celebrated the historic moment with a specially made creamed brew of pulled pork they squeezed from tubes (they didn’t have any bread in space at the time — it has trouble rising). Yep. Historic. Come join us for some pulled pork po-boys, it’ll be a giant leap toward the weekend.
Friday, July 22
Barbecued shrimp tacos with Spanish rice, charro black beans, fresh tomato and tomatillo sauces, and jicama slaw ($15.00). Take some of our barbecued shrimp, add them to a lightly fried corn tortilla with some jicama slaw and fresh salsas, and you’ve got a launching pad for the weekend. Shhhhhh! Don’t tell anyone, but Sting once admitted, “Intellectually, I’m probably a Republican.” We’re not exactly sure what that means, but we’d like to discuss it over shrimp tacos and beans. And, maybe we can sing a little of Sting’s famous movie song, “Shrimpalicious Man” — “Don’t mess with a shrimpalicous man!” Come join us, we’d love to see you!

Neil Armstrong tells us the truth about his famous moon walk, “Pilots take no special joy in walking. Pilots like flying.” Apparently, he’d rather fly around the moon than walk on it. Hmmm. We’re glad he took that step, though. Yes, we are.
