Hey friends, we’re back in the kitchen preparing some wonderful food just for you! We’ve got a great week of specials from Mrs. Clélie’s kitchen. Here’s what’s cooking for you this week: Hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and green beans, sandwich and wrap Wednesdays, chicken carbonara pasta or salmon croquettes!
What We’re Cooking for You This Week
On June 13, 2017 the Richland Parish Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Stone House Eats. We’re so thankful for Scott Franklin and the Chamber for their wonderful support of us! We’ll have a few goodies available for a little mid-morning snack, so come join us as we celebrate our years of service.
If you can’t make it for lunch, let us cook supper for you! Please give us a call at 267-4457, we’ll set aside some supper for you of our lunch special for the day, and you can pick it up at the shop after lunch service.

Hamburger steaks, mashed potatoes, and savory-sweet green beans. We offer our special mix of hamburger, sausage, house-made bread crumbs, and seasonings with a fresh gravy sided by, well, old standbys, mashed potatoes and savory-sweet green beans. Comedian Paul F. Tompkins notes, “When I was younger I was strictly meat-and-potatoes and I just wouldn’t try things. As I have gotten older, I’m much more adventurous but still not like whoever that dude is on whatever show it is who just goes around and eats bugs everywhere.” We would agree, it’s a little too early in the week to go eating bugs.
We’ll have a special summer vegetable soup made with our own beef stock available all week!
Sandwich & Wrap Wednesday, June 14, 2017
Sandwiches and wraps Wednesdays! We’ll have all our sandwiches and wraps available for lunch on Wednesdays: chicken salad, grilled pimento cheese and bacon, garden fresh BLT, fried green tomato BLT, grilled chicken, our jalapeño bun hamburger, or our chicken bacon ranch wraps. Chef Yotam Ottolenghi shares, “A well-made salad must have a certain uniformity; it should make perfect sense for those ingredients to share a bowl.” Well, that might just be overthinking a salad, but sometimes we need some excitement in a salad. Exciting salads almost sounds like an oxymoron.

Chicken carbonara on bow tie pasta or salmon croquettes with house salad and house bread. We have bow tie pasta swimming in a lovely and creamy white sauce with lots of fine friends — oven-roasted chicken breast, mushrooms, garden fresh veggies, and green onions. Or try the salmon croquettes with artichoke cream sauce — it’ll take you back to grandma’s house. Way back in 1982, the lovable E.T. The Extraterrestrial was released to fab reviews. Garnering four Academy Awards, the movie sits in the top ten list of all time earners. We wonder if E.T. would have liked a little chicken carbonara before he broke into the Reese’s Pieces — it might have helped him “Phone home” sooner. Come join us for a wonderful week at the table, we’d love to see you!

Musician and humorist Ray Stevens once said, “The human brain is a funny thing: it’s very susceptible to tempo and melody. You put the right words to it, and it becomes very influential.” We wonder how that fits with “O yes, they call him the streak…Look at that, look at that…”?
