Fried chicken tenders, mashed potatoes, savory-sweet broccoli, and biscuits. Chicken tenders bedded overnight in buttermilk and hot sauce come fried in a special flour recipe and served with mashed potatoes, savory sweet roasted broccoli, and flaky honey buttermilk biscuits — good home-cooking at its best. Well, here’s a chicken joke for Tuesday: “A man was driving along a freeway when he noticed a chicken running alongside his car. He was amazed to see the chicken keeping up with him, as he was doing 50 mph. He accelerated to 60, and the chicken stayed right next to him. He sped up to 75 mph, and the chicken passed him. The man noticed that the chicken had three legs. So, he followed the chicken down a road and ended up at a farm. He got out of his car and saw that all the chickens had three legs. He asked the farmer, “What’s up with these chickens?” The farmer said, “Well, everybody likes chicken legs, so I bred a three-legged bird. I’m going to be a millionaire.” The man asked him how they tasted. The farmer said, “I don’t know, haven’t caught one yet.”

Sandwiches and wraps Wednesdays! We’ll have all our sandwiches and wraps available for lunch on Wednesdays: chicken salad, grilled pimento cheese and bacon, garden fresh BLT, fried green tomato BLT, grilled chicken, our jalapeño bun hamburger, or our chicken bacon ranch wraps. Someone once offered some helpful advice for the modern world, “Never trust someone who takes hours to text you back, but when you hang out with them they check their phone every minute.”

Meatloaf with mama’s rice and roasted Brussel sprouts. Our meatloaf is a wonderful mix of beef, our own Stone House Eats house-made bread crumbs, and chopped-to-bits veggies. Meatloaf is mom’s way of hiding surprisingly good things in a bastion of beef covered in a sweet and sour tomato sauce flavored with Panola Gourmet Sauce. From Reader’s Digest jokes, ‘My three-year-old daughter stuck out her hand and said, “Look at the fly I killed, Mommy.” Since she was eating a juicy pickle at the time, I thrust her contaminated hands under the faucet and washed them with antibacterial soap. After sitting her down to finish her pickle, I asked, with a touch of awe, “How did you kill that fly all by yourself?” Between bites, she said, “I hit it with my pickle.”’ Whoops!
First Fridays Steak and Seafood Night, July 7
Hey friends, thanks for joining us on the first Friday of the month with a specially prepared meals just for you — we’ve had some wonderful Friday evenings serving you! Friday, July 7, 2017, we’ll host another steak and seafood night. Entrees of steak or seafood include a house salad, sides, and house bread. Choices of appetizer and choices of dessert will be available for a separate price. We’ll start seating at 5:30pm, and you may bring your own wine or beer.
