Hey friends, we’re preparing some wonderful food just for you, this week!  We’ve got a great week of specials from Mrs. Clélie’s kitchen. Here’s what’s cooking for you this week: chicken carbonara pasta, sandwich and wrap Wednesdays, and meatloaf with mashed potatoes! We’ll have a house-made cream of asparagus soup and our very own shrimp salad available all week!

Please keep all our friends in southeast Texas and Florida as they recover from Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

If you can’t make it for lunch, let us cook supper for you! Please give us a call at 267-4457, we’ll set aside some supper for you of our lunch special for the day, and you can pick it up at the shop after lunch service.

Chicken carbonara on bow tie pasta with house salad and bread. We have bow tie pasta swimming in a lovely and creamy white sauce with lots of fine friends — oven-roasted chicken breast, mushrooms, garden fresh veggies, and green onions. We said goodbye to country legend Don Williams last week, singer of such country greats as “Turn Out the Light and Love Me Tonight,” “Some Broken Hearts Never Mend,” “Tulsa Time,” “I Believe in You,” and “Listen to the Radio.” We loved his low voice, easy-going manner, and ratty cowboy hats. We’re thinking “Tulsa Time” might make a good pasta song: “Livin’ on pasta time, livin’ on pasta time; well, you know I love chicken, with that pasta and its saucin’, livin’ on pasta time.” We think Don would have been proud — especially since they eat so much pasta in his birthplace of Floydada, Texas.

Sandwich & Wrap Wednesday, September 13, 2017

Sandwiches and wraps Wednesdays! We’ll have all our sandwiches and wraps available for lunch on Wednesdays. Hey friends, try our very own version of the muffuletta made with our own bread and olive spread — then we add genoa salami, hard salami, smoked ham, swiss cheese, and hogs head cheese (it’s so much more fun than the traditional bologna). Well, it was a typical noisy dinner at their parents’ home, and her Dad was having trouble following the conversations. He kept jumping in with off-topic comments and asking for things to be repeated. His daughter finally told him he needed to get a hearing aid. Looking at her as if she were crazy, he said, “What would I do with a hand grenade?”

Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and sautéed cabbage. Our meatloaf is a wonderful mix of beef, our own Stone House Eats house-made bread crumbs, and chopped-to-bits veggies. Meatloaf is mom’s way of hiding surprisingly good things in a bastion of beef covered in a sweet and sour tomato sauce flavored with Panola Gourmet Sauce. Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon is a coach of many words, inspiring long press conferences. Check this one about meatloaf: ‘”They got us, but any time you ‘meat loaf’ the other team in a series, you’ll take it. Meat loaf tastes good all season long. By the end of the season, it might be your favorite meal of all time.” Maddon was referring to the 1977 hit “Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad” by the rocker Meat Loaf, meaning he’s OK with taking series. After the Cubs won the first two games against the Cardinals last weekend but watched the bullpen blow the finale, Maddon proclaimed the next day, “The meat loaf was not good yesterday.”‘ Well, there you have it.  Check here for more quotes.

First Fridays Steak and Seafood Night, November 3

Hey friends, thanks for joining us on the first Friday of the month with a specially prepared meals just for you! Because of a heavy catering schedule in October and Clélie attending course of study school as a local pastor, we’ll host our next Friday Night Steak and Seafood on Friday, November 3, 2017.
