House-made hamburgers on jalapeño buns with all the trimmings. Buy one, get one half price! Well, what’s better than home-made hamburgers, jalapeño buns, and lots of trimmings? Joni Mitchell mused, “I used to be monastic, almost. Now I’m like a Tibetan that has discovered hamburgers and television. I’m catching up on Americana.” We remember her song, “Clouds,” with those great lyrics, “I’ve looked at clouds from both sides now, from up and down, and still somehow, it’s cloud illusions I recall, I really don’t know clouds at all.” First the clouds looked like angel hair and feather canyons, then they blocked the sun, giving rain and snow. Sounds to us like she was holding forth about the ephemeral nature of clouds, and well, life. Some days it’s feather canyons and angel hair, other days it a blocked sun with lots of rain. Well, you don’t need to wonder philosophically about these burgers — they are their own answers to the deep questions of life.
We’ll have our very own fifteen bean soup with kale and Italian sausage available all week!
Sandwich & Wrap Wednesday, October 11, 2017
Sandwiches and wraps Wednesdays! We’ll have all our sandwiches and wraps available for lunch on Wednesdays. We’ve got a new salad you can try: our muffuletta salad! Comes with our mixed romaine and spring mix, purple onions, tomatoes and house dressing topped with genoa salami, pepperoni, smoked ham, swiss cheese, and our very own olive spread. Muddy Waters remembers the-once-upon-a-time blues playing of the old days, “Saturday night is your big night. Everybody used to fry up fish and have one hell of a time. Find me playing till sunrise for 50 cents and a sandwich. And be glad of it. And they really liked the low-down blues.” Four bits and a sandwich for Muddy holding blues court all night — not sure what kind of deal that is, but for a young man in the early 1930’s playing juke joints around Clarksdale, Mississippi, well, that’s the stuff of legend.

Roasted chicken quarters with a savory-sweet reduction sauce, mama’s rice, roasted carrots and celery, and a house-made biscuit. Our specially seasoned and carefully roasted chicken quarters come served atop mama’s savory rice with some lovely roasted vegetables. Mae West notes, “I never worry about diets. The only carrots that interest me are the number you get in a diamond.” Thanks, Mae, for keeping it real. Have a blessed Thursday!

Larry the Cable Guy jokes, “One of my little girls is named Reagan. Her first words were, ‘Mr. Larry, tear down this crib.’ That was her first words, it was very sweet. My first words were, ‘Are you going to finish that sandwich?’ Yep.
